Laser Technician (1st & 2nd Shift Openings)
General Job Description
NUBURU Inc. is looking for a highly motivated Laser technician to join our Production team and work with the next generation of industrial laser systems. The technician will be part of a dynamic team and work to meet Customer demand for cutting-edge laser systems. The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following skills:
- Experience with opto-mechanical assembly and laser alignment
- Experience in the assembly of high tolerance, complex opto-mechanical products
- Experience with manufacturing, Lean, Six Signa & statistical process control (SPC)
- Hands-on experience with Shop Floor Control systems, Kan Ban, Inventory control
- Start-up experience is an asset
- Ability to work unsupervised and effectively in a team environment
- Good time management, organizational, written & verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
Key responsibilities related to this position are as follows:
- Build and test components, sub-assemblies and finished laser systems
- Work with Production Lead to manage Work Order assignment to ensure production schedules are met
- Follow Work Instructions & SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
- Adhere to all Cleanroom Protocol and safety procedures
- Perform inventory of production components and supplies as required
- Escalate issues or concerns about quality, processes, equipment, materials
- Work with support staff to resolve issues impacting Operations
- Update production KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) as required
- Identify and support continuous improvement efforts
- Assist with implementation and sustaining lean manufacturing and 5S activities
- Follow policies and procedures and detailed in Nuburu’s Quality Systems
- Participate in daily SOS/EOS meetings and communicate progress and updates
- Work with Mfg. Engineering on tool calibration and equipment maintenance
- Participate in Safety Audits and related events
- Participate in team 8D problem solving sessions
Preferred credentials and experience
- An Associate degree in Optics or Lasers or equivalent industrial experience
- 1 to 3 years’ experience manufacturing in two or more for of the following areas: high power lasers, fiber or semiconductor lasers, optical sub-systems
